IV therapy basics
What is IV hydration therapy?
IV hydration therapy delivers fluids, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into
your bloodstream through an intravenous drip. Because the infusion bypasses your digestive
system entirely, the nutrients reach circulation directly rather than depending on how well
your gut absorbs them that day.
Oral supplements have to survive digestion first, and how much actually reaches your
bloodstream varies by nutrient, by person, and by what else you’ve eaten. IV delivery removes
that variable.
How long does an IV therapy session take?
Most IV drip sessions take 30 to 60 minutes depending on the treatment. Intramuscular (IM)
vitamin injections are much quicker — typically 5 to 10 minutes.
What’s the difference between an IV drip and an IM injection?
An IV drip infuses fluids and nutrients into a vein over 30 to 60 minutes, so it hydrates as
well as delivers nutrients. An IM injection places a concentrated dose into muscle tissue in a
few minutes, with no fluid volume and no IV line. Drips suit hydration and larger nutrient
blends; injections suit a quick, targeted dose when you’re short on time.
How quickly will I notice results?
Many clients notice effects during or shortly after their session, particularly rehydration.
Individual response varies, and your nurse can talk through what to expect from the specific
treatment you’ve chosen.

Where do sessions take place?
Wherever you’re comfortable. Most clients choose their home, but we also serve offices,
hotels, Airbnbs, and event venues. We bring everything needed for the session — you just need
somewhere to sit or lie down for the duration.
Is there a travel fee?
Travel fees may apply outside our standard service radius. If one applies to your location,
we’ll tell you during booking — never afterward.
Can you do group bookings or events?
Yes. We serve bachelorette parties, corporate offices, wedding parties, and other group
events. Contact us with your group size,
date, and location and we’ll put together an arrangement.
How far in advance should I book?
Booking ahead gives you the widest choice of times, especially for weekends and group events.
For individual appointments, get in touch and we’ll find the earliest slot that works.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
- Drink water beforehand — well-hydrated veins are easier to access
- Eat something in the hours before your session
- Wear clothing with sleeves that roll up easily
- Complete your intake forms in advance so we can review your health history
- Have a comfortable place to sit or recline for 30 to 60 minutes
Safety and medical questions
Is IV therapy safe?
Every treatment is administered by a licensed Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in
Nursing and clinical experience, using sterile medical-grade supplies. We review your health
history and screen for contraindications before every session, and your nurse monitors you
throughout.
Like any medical procedure, IV therapy carries some risk, which is why the screening and
the licensed administration matter. If you have an underlying condition, tell us during intake
so we can make the right call for you.
Who administers the IVs?
All IV therapies and injections are administered by licensed Registered Nurses (RNs) holding
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees, with clinical experience.
Are there side effects?
Side effects are uncommon and usually minor: slight bruising at the IV site, a cool
sensation during the infusion, or a brief metallic taste with certain vitamins. Your nurse
monitors you for the whole session and will stop the infusion if you’re uncomfortable.
Who should not get IV therapy?
Anyone with a heart condition, kidney disease, or on a fluid-restricted diet should talk to
their physician before booking. We review health history and contraindications before every
treatment, and there are cases where we’ll recommend you check with your doctor first rather
than proceed.
Do I need a prescription for IV hydration therapy?
No. Standard IV hydration and vitamin therapies, including B12 injections, don’t require a
prescription.
Prescription treatments do. That includes our weight loss programs and Toradol (ketorolac),
an anti-inflammatory that requires a prescriber’s order. We handle the consultation as part of
the process.
Weight loss programs
Do you use brand-name or compounded GLP-1 medication?
We use FDA-approved, brand-name medication. We do not use compounded semaglutide or
tirzepatide.
This distinction matters more than most people realize. Compounded versions are not
FDA-approved, and the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness, or quality before
they reach patients. Many providers in this space use compounded product because it costs
less. We don’t.
Who prescribes the medication?
Prescriptions are written by physicians licensed in the State of Ohio, following a medical
consultation and review of your health history. The medication is then administered by our
BSN-prepared Registered Nurses.
That separation — a licensed prescriber making the clinical decision, a licensed nurse
administering — is how a weight loss program is supposed to be structured.
How do semaglutide and tirzepatide work?
Both are GLP-1 receptor agonists, a class of medication FDA-approved for weight management.
They work by regulating appetite, slowing gastric emptying, and supporting metabolic function,
and are given as weekly injections. Your prescriber will discuss expected outcomes, dosing, and
possible side effects during your consultation.
How do I start a weight loss program?
You begin with a consultation covering your health history, your goals, and whether the
medication is clinically appropriate for you. If you’re a candidate, your prescriber sets a
personalized dosing plan, and we schedule regular check-ins to monitor progress and adjust as
needed.
Is the weight loss program medically supervised?
Yes. An Ohio-licensed physician prescribes and oversees your treatment, with ongoing
monitoring, dose adjustments, and support throughout the program. This is not a
prescription-by-questionnaire service.

A note on weight loss pricing: semaglutide and tirzepatide are
priced per injection, not per month. Because GLP-1 medications are administered weekly, plan
your budget around the number of injections in your dosing schedule. Your prescriber will
confirm your schedule at your free consultation.

Is the weight loss consultation really free?
Yes. The initial 30-minute weight loss consultation is free. You’ll review your health
history and goals with us and find out whether the medication is clinically appropriate for
you before spending anything.
Do you accept insurance?
IV hydration therapy is an elective wellness service and isn’t typically covered by
insurance. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and cash.
Can I use an HSA or FSA card?
HSA and FSA eligibility depends on your plan and, in some cases, on whether the treatment is
medically indicated. Check with your plan administrator, and contact us if you need
documentation for a claim.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows may be
subject to a fee. Life happens — call us as early as you can and we’ll do what we can.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes. Gift cards are available for any service or in any denomination.
